Are you trying to remove yourself from a room or trying to close a room but the app is not allowing you to?

Are you trying to add people to a room but the 'add people' option is unavailable?

Chances are that you are in a case follower room and there are unique features and capabilities within case follower rooms that have been designed to help your organization communicate smarter.

This article will walk you through key features of case follower rooms and general message rooms.

First, if you haven't already, we recommend that you read the article Understanding Case Admins vs Followers. This will help you understand the underlying differences between admins and followers in the system as the experience, feature, and functionality between the two type of users is very different.

What is a Case Follower Room?

A Case Follower Room is a sub-room of a case that is created to send specific information in a workflow to specific user groups. For example, if a case admin is setting up a case, they might create a case follower room to manage conversations with their OR team. By creating a case follower room, they are able to select very specific information in the workflow that is related to OR that is important for that team (or 'follower group') to be updated on. They can repeat this process by creating follower rooms for each of their key team (e.g. OR, surgeons, HLA, OPO, etc.), allowing them to manage conversations with each group individually and provide tailored updates automatically that are aimed at reducing notification fatigue for 'followers' and reduce manually data entry, copy and paste, and communication redundancy for coordinators or 'case admins.'

What is a General Room?

A general room is a room that is created independent of a case, donor, organ, or patient. For example, you may want to create a general room for on-call schedules or other internal announcements. You may also create a general room to have a 1-on-1 conversation with someone within or external to your organization. A general room can be created by all approved users that are part of a premium account or organization. You can create a general room by going to the "Rooms" module and selecting the 'new chat' icon bubble in the top right of the app.
