Single Sign-On (SSO), Face ID, and Login Guide

Having trouble signing in? Learn the differences between SSO and email/password accounts, why Face ID may not be available, and how to resolve common login issues.

If you're having trouble signing in, using Face ID, or resetting your password, your experience depends on how your account was created and your organization's security requirements.

How Was My Account Created?

FlowHawk accounts are created in one of two ways:

Email & Password

You log in with an email address and password that is stored and managed by FlowHawk.

Single Sign-On (SSO)

You log in through your organization's identity provider (such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Ping, etc.).

Your login options and available features depend on which account type you have.

Can I Use Face ID?

If Your Organization Requires SSO

Face ID is not supported.

When your organization requires Single Sign-On:

  • You must use Sign in with SSO

  • Authentication is managed by your organization's identity provider

  • Your password is not stored in FlowHawk

  • Face ID cannot be used to sign in

Because FlowHawk does not store your credentials, Face ID has no credentials available to authenticate with.

If Your Organization Does Not Require SSO

Face ID may be available if your account has a FlowHawk password associated with it.

If your account was originally created using SSO and you would like to use Face ID, contact support to discuss enabling password-based login.

Why Doesn't Face ID Work?

The most common reasons are:

  • Your account was created using SSO

  • Your organization requires SSO

  • Your account does not have a FlowHawk password associated with it

If your organization requires SSO, continue signing in using Sign in with SSO.

For the best experience, we recommend disabling Face ID in the FlowHawk app when using SSO.

Why Doesn't Password Reset Work?

If password reset isn't working, your account was most likely created using SSO.

When using SSO:

  • Your password is managed by your organization

  • FlowHawk does not store your password

  • FlowHawk cannot reset your password

Instead, select Sign in with SSO and authenticate through your organization's login provider.

Which Login Method Should I Use?

Accounts Created with Email & Password

You can use:

  • Email and password

  • Sign in with SSO (if your organization supports it)

You can also:

  • Reset your password

  • Use Face ID

Accounts Created with SSO

You must use:

  • Sign in with SSO

You cannot:

  • Reset your password through FlowHawk

  • Use Face ID (if your organization requires SSO)

I Want to Use Face ID

If Your Organization Requires SSO

Face ID is not available.

Continue using Sign in with SSO

If Your Organization Does Not Require SSO

Support may be able to add password-based login to your account.

Once a password has been added:

  • Credentials can be securely stored on your device

  • Face ID can be enabled

When Should I Contact Support?

Contact support if:

  • You created your account with SSO and would like to use Face ID

  • Your organization does not require SSO and you need a password added to your account

  • You are unsure whether your account uses SSO or email/password authentication

  • You are stuck between SSO login and password reset
